The Fortnite shop token is Pirate Shop Access, an ultra-rare chest drop in the Treasure Hunters mini-season. Find it once and every item sold for V-Bucks in the Item Shop is free to claim for 14 days — once in 2026 and once in 2027.
What is the Fortnite shop token?
The Fortnite shop token — officially named Pirate Shop Access — is the rarest Treasure Hunt prize in the Treasure Hunters mini-season that started Nov 1, 2026 (v43.00). The in-game reward screen says: Plunder the Fortnite Item Shop — twice! Activate the Pirate Shop once in 2026 and once in 2027.
It is not a currency, it pays no V-Bucks, and it cannot be traded. It is a reward state on your account that unlocks two 14-day windows of free Item Shop claims.

How to get the Pirate Shop token, step by step
You get the Pirate Shop token by opening Battle Royale chests during the Treasure Hunters mini-season and hoping for the rarest roll — that is the whole mechanic. Nothing you can buy or do raises the odds per chest; you can only open more chests.
- Play Battle Royale during Treasure Hunters (Nov 1 to about Dec 5, 2026). The token comes from Treasure Hunt rolls on chests on the new Crossbones Isle map.
- Open every chest you can. Normal chests can roll it; guides disagree on whether only special chest types count, so treat every chest as a chance.
- Play in a squad. If a teammate finds it, the whole squad reportedly gets it — four players open roughly four times as many chests.
- Loop back. Chests refill over time in Treasure Hunters, and the Fortune Sprite reveals nearby chests.
- Watch for the gold banner. The chest glows and shakes, then "YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS" appears. You keep it even if you are eliminated right after.

How to activate the Pirate Shop
To activate, open the Shop tab in the lobby, select Plunder the Shop at the bottom left, then press Activate Now — your 14 days start at that exact moment, not before.
